Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. They can be used to add an additional bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors or other players, looted or obtained as an incentive, or even created by crafting materials. Alongside providing bonus points Upgrade items also be cosmetically beneficial.
Infusions, inscriptions, as well as enhancements are all types of upgrade component. They are not generally accessible to the general public and are only available on equipment that is ascended, or certain non-ascended weaponry from the Factions Campaign. You can recover infusions, inscriptions and enrichments from equipment by using an Infusion Extractor Device or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.
Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade items are able to be traded and re-used when still attached to an item that is being upgraded. These upgrades are the most effective option to boost the quality of armor and weapons without spending Dilithium in the sense that they increase the odds of receiving a quality upgrade by two times.
An upgrade component placed in an item may be replaced with a different one, but doing so destroys the original one (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Upgrade components are only available to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or higher. When item upgrades upgrade a weapon that is already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the new item as it would appear in the game (for instance adding the Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be referred to as Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can only own up to three upgrade items at once.

Glyphs
Glyphs can be an excellent accessory to any item. They provide unique benefits and boosts. Certain glyphs increase the number of affixes an item has, which increases its power. These glyphs can be found through the dungeons and some even drop in certain World Tier 3 areas. It is important to note that glyphs can only be used by characters who have created a root-dungeon of the same depth.
To make use of a Glyph it is necessary to create it using components and connect them with anchors. The component will then automatically align with other components or paths in the same layer. If you don't wish to create the glyph using components, you can use the combination of paths and anchors. Drag an element near a component highlighted to hold it into place.
Certain glyphs have requirements to fulfill, for example having a minimum of 25 Dexterity in a specific region on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to activate which is sometimes difficult to attain. Certain glyphs have a radius that grows with each level.
item upgrader are used for many different items, and are added to all weapons, with the exception for weapons of a particular class. Certain glyphs can be used with additional requirements, for example an amount of Dexterity damage, or Attack damage on a specific area of the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph boosts the chance of preventing enemy attacks by 5%. It also has a chance of 15%, making the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be applied to restricted use tools, such as the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most popular glyphs are the attack glyphs, which boost the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat value. These glyphs are especially useful for classes that use weapons that are ranged, like Warriors or Rogues. The Exploit Glyph can make enemies who strike the Hero vulnerable to damage.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling a result rolled during an Action. When the reroll occurs, they are thrown away. Reroll tokens can be obtained in a variety of ways, such as through the dungeons, raids and skirmishes. You can also purchase them at the shop or from other players. They are especially useful in dungeons or trials because they allow players to reroll rewards at the bottom of the chest.
The values for recycling points are provided for items at level 1. The upgrade gauge will grow by a certain number of points each time you recycle an item. This number is determined by both the item's rarity and level. In addition the upgraded item won't keep its level after rerolling and the cost of recycling an upgraded item increases depending on its level.
Another option is to use reroll tokens to roll an upgrade item again, but this will not bring the item back to its original level or give it its original stats. This is useful for players who wish to reroll an item they don't like, but would like to keep it in their collection.
Three different types of upgrade coins are available in the game: the reroll, the randomly generated, and upgrade. Each type comes with its own subtypes. For example, reroll tokens are available in three levels: rare, enhanced and legendary. Each requires a product of the appropriate level to create the new item with that quality.
To make use of rerolling tokens you must select "Reroll Token" by right-clicking the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Select the type of token. The available tokens include Item, Weapon, Misc, 1hgun, 2hgun and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a brand new Item in any quality. Making use of a Weapon or Misc token will create a new weapon from the same faction.
The item may be upgraded to a different item with the same stats but is at a higher level. This could happen if the item is in the Non-droppable Pool or was transferred to it as part of the Franchise Card.
